Rain spreading from west. Gale force winds.

Today:

Bright intervals and scattered showers at first however a more organised area of rain will spread from the west later today, this heavy at times. Gale to severe gale force winds. Maximum temperature 12 °C.

Tonight:

Rain clearing east then clear intervals and scattered showers, these mainly over the northwest Highlands. Staying windy with gales in the Minches and over the high ground. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday:

Sunny intervals and scattered showers these possibly merging for a time into a more organised area of rain around Lochaber. Winds slowly easing. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Very windy with widespread gales. Blustery showers, especially in west, with sunny spells. Brightest with few showers towards the east. Thick cloud and rain with hill snow moving east during evening.

Very windy with severe gales at first over the Northwest. Frequent blustery showers, brightest with fewer showers towards the Trossachs. Thick cloiud and rain with hill snow moving east later.

Met Office Forecast is as follows:

Wintry showers dying out and winds easing.

Today:

Rather cloudy with wintry showers, most frequent in the north with snow to low levels at times, but drier conditions with some good sunny spells spread east through the late morning and afternoon. Strong to gale force northerly winds easing. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with clear spells at first allowing a frost to develop. However cloud increases from the west bringing outbreaks of rain, preceded by hill snow, to most parts by dawn. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

Sunday:

A rather cloudy day with outbreaks of rain or drizzle, the rain likely to turn more persistent and perhaps heavier across the northwest at times. Milder with strengthening southwest winds. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Showers or longer outbreaks of rain. Gales or severe gales.

Today:

Blustery showers, these wintry at times over the hills, the best of any brightness around Inverness and Speyside. The showers merging at times over Eilean Siar and the Northwest Highlands. Strong to gale force winds, occasionally severe in west. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Further showers or longer outbreaks of rain, again heaviest and most persistent in the west and remaining wintry over the hills. The strong to gale force winds gradually easing. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday:

Bright spells and showers, the showers turning increasingly wintry with some moderate falls over the hills. Feeling cold in the fresh to strong northerly winds, coastal gales. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Today:

Sunny intervals and blustery showers. The showers will be heaviest and most frequent in the North with a risk of hail and thunder and snow on hills. Feeling much colder with strong northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Tonight:

Showers dying out to leave a dry night with clear spells. A touch of frost away from the west coast where it will become cloudy later. Lighter winds. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Tuesday:

Dry start in East but rain and hill snow soon reaching west Highlands will edge east during the morning but brighter showery weather following later. Becoming windy. Maximum temperature 8 °C

Still some showers at first, then dry with clear spells. It will become cloudy in the West later with patchy rain and drizzle. Light winds. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Friday:

A bright start in East, otherwise a mostly cloudy day. Staying mainly dry in the East too but rain and drizzle will affect the West Coast along with mist patches. Maximum temperature 10 °C.

Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, much of this light and patchy in the east with some drier and brighter spells around Inverness and the Black Isle. The rain occasionally heavy and persistent across Eilean Siar and the Northwest Highlands. Windy. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Tonight:

The thicker cloud and rain clearing south this evening to leave well broken cloud and occasional showers. The showers most frequent in the west, wintry over the hills. Windy. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Bright with occasional sunny spells and showers, the best of the brightness around Inverness and Speyside. The showers heavy at times, wintry over the hills. Fresh to strong westerly winds. Maximum temperature 10 °C

Met Office Forecast is as follows:

Snow in north at first then bright with scattered showers.

Today:

Snow continuing in north of the mainland at first but this soon clearing north. Some icy stretches possible on untreated roads. Most places will be dry and bright however a scattering of wintry showers, will affect the west at times. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

The odd snow shower will continue to affect the west coast. Elsewhere it will be a dry evening and night with clear spells light winds and a widespread frost. Minimum temperature -3 °C.

Thursday:

A frosty start to the day for most then a mixture of Bright or sunny intervals and snow showers these mainly confined to the north and west. Maximum temperature 6 °C

The showers over Highland will gradually turn more wintry with snow falling even to low levels as we go through the night. These showers will continue through Tuesday and may possibly merge into some more prolonged periods of snow. Depths of up to 20cm are possible over the higher routes with some drifting and up to 5cm are possible on the lower routes.

The public are advised to take extra care and refer to ‘Traffic Scotland’ for further advice on road conditions.

Met Office Forecast is as follows:

A cold day with showers or longer spells of snow.

Today:

The west and north will have a mixture of bright intervals and wintry showers, the odd rumble of thunder is also possible. Over Lochaber it will be cloudy with snow this heavy over the high ground. Breezy at first. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

During this evening the area of snow will drift away east and the winds will fall away light so a fairly widespread frost is expected to develop. Minimum temperature -4 °C.

Wednesday:

Bright or sunny intervals and snow showers these mainly confined to the and west and the isles with eastern parts staying dry. Winds continuing to be light. Maximum temperature 5 °C
