Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, preceded by sleet and hill snow. The rain, and hill snow, most persistent and occasionally heavy across the northwest during the morning, drier towards Moray coast. Rather strong southwest winds, risk of gales in Minches. Maximum temperature 9 °C.

Tonight:

Remaining rather cloudy with rain at times, the rain becoming more persistent and perhaps heavier at times in the northwest towards dawn. Fresh southwest winds. Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Monday:

A cloudy day with outbreaks of rain, once again most persistent and occasionally heavy across the northwest, but drier towards Inverness. Moderate, occasionally fresh, southwest winds. Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Further showers or longer spells of rain are likely, and these will be gradually turning to sleet or snow later in the night. Fresh or strong northerly winds. Minimum temperature -1 °C.

Saturday:

Bright or sunny intervals and occasional sleet or snow showers, these mainly light and dying out later. Strong northerly winds gradually easing. Maximum temperature 5 °C.

Tonight:

Further sleet and snow showers, especially in the west. Drier with clear spells and a touch of ground frost further east. Strong to gale force westerly winds. Minimum temperature 1 °C.

Monday:

Sunny spells and still a lot of showers, especially in the North and west with snow over the hills. Strong to gale force westerly winds. Maximum temperature 8 °C.

Rather cloudy this morning with outbreaks of sleet with snow, mainly on higher ground. Drier and brighter this afternoon with a few showers towards the West Coast. Brisk westerly winds but fresh over the Islands. Maximum temperature 6 °C.

Tonight:

Dry with sharp frost away from the West Coast. Cloudy in the west with rain and sleet reaching the Islands and western fringes of the Mainland by morning. Freshening winds. Minimum temperature –4 °C.

Friday:

Cloudy with rain and sleet edging in from West Coast to all parts during day. Snow mainly over hills. Drier weather following to West Coast later. Southwest winds increasing strong. Maximum temperature 7 °C.

Mainly dry overnight with perhaps just an odd coastal shower. Clear periods inland leading to a widespread sharp frost, locally severe. Light winds. Minimum temperature -10 °C.

Thursday:

Dry at first with some bright or sunny intervals. Cloud increasing during the morning with outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow developing, mainly over the west of the area. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

A mixture of sunny spells and scattered snow showers, most of these in the north of the area. Cold with light to moderate northerly winds. Maximum temperature 2 °C.

A bright start, although Speyside will see a little snow until lunch-time. Snow showers will also develop across Caithness, Sutherland, Wester Ross and the Hebrides, where a strong northerly wind will also pick up, making it feel particularly raw. Maximum temperature 3 °C.

Tonight:

Clear spells and further showers of hail, sleet or snow. Strong to near gale northerly winds will cause lying snow to drift across the north and west. Severe frost. Minimum temperature -5 °C.

Friday:

Bright or clear spells and further showers of hail, sleet or snow. Strong to gale northerly winds will cause lying snow to drift. Bitterly cold. Maximum temperature 4 °C.

Cloudy with sleet and snow with further moderate accumulations across the northeast of the Region. Drier, clearer conditions with a widespread frost will edge in from the Northwest later. Fresh to strong Northeasterly winds. Minimum temperature -2 °C.

Thursday:

Any snow in south at first soon clearing. Then mainly dry sunny spells but snow showers will edge into the Northwest. Cold with fresh northeasterly winds. Maximum temperature 2 °C.
