cold

Forecast for the coming week!

The North Wind Blows…
This weekend has seen colder air filter back in across the UK after a milder end to last week. There has already been some snow in parts of Northern England and Scotland in particular, and overnight an area of rain, sleet and snow will move south through the Midlands and into Southern England.

At lower levels this is more likely to fall solely as rain, but higher up some sleet and snow is possible. Elsewhere there are wintry showers affecting eastern areas, but otherwise it’s mainly dry with a frost forming in many regions.

Into Monday, the rain, sleet and snow clears the south to leave many places dry, but those wintry showers will continue in the east. It’ll feel cold everywhere though with highs just struggling above freezing across the north of the country, and peaking at around 5°c in the south.

After a widespread ground frost and some fog patches overnight, Tuesday should be a mainly dry but still chilly with highs again in low single figures widely. Later in the day rain is likely to move into the north of Scotland, and that will move south overnight and during Wednesday.

Then later, as winds swing round to the north behind the rain band the cold returns with the threat of accumulating snow and cold temperatures returning.
