Rather cloudy with showers, but longer spells of rain expected over Caithness, Easter Ross and parts of Sutherland. Some brighter skies, but any showers could be heavy and slow moving. Breezy around northern coasts and Lewis. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Still mostly cloudy with showers or longer outbreaks of rain, heaviest through Caithness and Sutherland. Some drier and clearer spells through Lochaber. Breezy around the coasts. Minimum temperature 9 °C.

Sunday:

Mostly cloudy during the morning from Caithness down to Speyside with outbreaks of rain. Drier over Skye, Lochaber and Eilean Siar, these drier and brighter conditions pushing eastwards. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Met Office Forecast is as follows

Mainly dry with sunnier spells and light winds.

Today:

A cold start with local mist and fog patches in some glens, then mainly dry with bright or sunny spells for most. Although some early showers may affect Caithness and some outbreaks of light rain occurring across the Western Isles. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Tonight:

Outbreaks of light rain will continue to affect Western Isles during this evening and overnight, spreading into Lochaber and Wester Ross later. Elsewhere it will remain dry with clearer breaks. Minimum temperature 4 °C.

Friday:

The rain in the west will spread erratically eastwards during the day, not reaching Caithness until the afternoon. The rain will turn more persistent and occasionally heavy. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

A cloudy day over the north of the area with outbreaks of rain, this heaviest over Caithness and Sutherland. Drier and brighter across Lochaber and Mull. Windy in the north with gale force northwesterlies. Rain dying out later this afternoon. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

A scattering of showers will affect the north and west . Elsewhere it will be a dry night with some clear spells. A touch of frost possible. Light winds. Minimum temperature 3 °C.

Thursday:

A fine but cold start to the day, then mainly dry with bright or sunny spells. Becoming cloudier in the west late afternoon with the chance of some rain. Maximum temperature 14 °C.

Staying mainly cloudy through this evening and overnight with further outbreaks of rain these heavy and persistent over Lochaber. Winds will fall away light especially in the north. Minimum temperature 7 °C.

Tuesday:

Continuing mainly cloudy with further outbreaks of rain these again heaviest over Lochaber. Across the north the rain will be more showery with a few bright intervals. Brisk northwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

A bright start towards Inverness but cloud and outbreaks of rain will spread east through the morning. The rain heavy and persistent at times across the Northwest Highlands and Lochaber. Fresh or strong south or southwesterly winds. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

Rain becoming lighter early tonight with drier spells in east. More persistent and heavier rain will then sweep northeastwards to all parts later. Strong southerly winds, gales on West Coast. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Monday:

Wet and very windy with persistent, heavy rain across Western Isles and Northwest Highlands. Rain will be lighter and patchy further east. Southwesterly gales increasing severe gale, especially in Northwest. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Today:

Cloudy this morning with some rain at times, some heavy thundery bursts, and misty over Caithness and Easter Ross. Turning brighter and warmer in the north and east especially around Inverness, while further showery rain will affect the west. Windy. Maximum temperature 21 °C.

Tonight:

Inverness Wick and the east will be dry with some clear spells. The west will have a few showers, with prolonged rain reaching Skye Lochaber and the Hebrides later. Windy. Minimum temperature 11 °C.

Sunday:

Much of southern and western Highland and Isles will be cloudy with showers or longer spells of rain and limited brightness. Some showers in east but some sunny intervals. Windy. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

A mostly cloudy day with some outbreaks of rain. these will be mainly light but with a few slightly heavier bursts mainly in this morning, and towards Skye this afternoon. Eastern areas around Inverness and parts of Speyside brightening later. Maximum temperature 15 °C.

Tonight:

The drier weather around Inverness will spread north to Caithness and Southerland for a time. Another band of heavier rain will then cross north across all areas overnight. Minimum temperature 12 °C.

Saturday:

A wet start in the far north then brightening here and becoming quite warm. Often cloudier over the Isles, Lochaber and Lochalsh with some showery rain at times. Breezy, warmer. Maximum temperature 20 °C.

Bright with sunny spells and blustery showers. The showers heaviest and most frequent over Eilean Siar and the Northwest Highlands. The showers becoming lighter and more scattered during the day. Winds gradually easing but strong at first around the coast. Maximum temperature 16 °C.

Tonight:

A fine end to the day, any showers light and well scattered. Cloud thickening from the south with patchy rain developing overnight, the odd heavier burst by dawn. Minimum temperature 6 °C.

Friday:

Outbreaks of rain during the morning, occasionally heavy. Becoming drier through the afternoon with brighter spells developing around Inverness and parts of Speyside. Low cloud and drizzle persisting over hills. Maximum temperature 18 °C.
